Kalonzo Musyoka’s absence from the swearing in of Raila Odinga continues to attract reactions, with leaders from the Ukambani backyard still coming to terms with his move.
The absence of Musyoka and his two other principals Musali Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula has continued to elicit reactions, with many branding them cowards.
Some of the leaders within the Ukambani area have now threatened to shift their allegiance and support the current Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua.
The Wiper Party leaders have also expressed their disappointment over Musyoka’s move, saying they do not know what came over their leader. Speaking to a local daily, the minority whip in the Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior said the move was a letdown to the Kamba nation.
“Wiper has let its supporters down; I take responsibility on my part. While waiting at Hotel Intercontinental at 2pm Tuesday, I learnt Wetangula, Musyoka and Mudavadi were not attending,” he said.
He added: “it was sudden and shocking. ODM colleagues left the hotel unceremoniously, forcing me to look for my party boss,”
He further defended himself for not attending the event, saying it would have been deceitful.
“It was deceitful to pretend all was well. Nevertheless, the decision not to attend was mine,”
