The Wiper Party leadership is set to crack the whip on elected leaders who have sworn allegiance to other political parties, Wiper chairperson and Kitui Senator David Musila has announced.
Speaking on Monday shortly after ODM Party expelled ten elected rebel leaders from the party, Musila confirmed that Wiper is scheduled to take a similar disciplinary action in a move that seeks to instill party discipline within Wiper.
“The committee has already been directed by the National Executive Committee to deal with the issue. The media will be kept informed of any developments,” he said.
Wiper Party has been hardly hit by defection with many of its legislators largely drawn from Ukambani jumping ship to the newly formed Jubilee Party.
Regina Ndambuki (Kilome), Joe Mutambu (Mwingi Central), Munuve Mati (Mwingi North), Kisoi Munyao (Mbooni) and Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua are some of the Wiper elected leaders who are set to be summoned by the party's top brass.
