The Wiper party will hold free and fair nominations. This is according to deliberations by the party's secretariat in their meeting that was held Thursday and a communiqué issued after the meeting by Wiper Secretary General Hassan Omar.
The secretariat notified the public of its intention to receive applications for the positions of Governors, Senators, Women Representatives, MP'S and MCA's.
All Aspirants will be required to submit an application letter demonstrating contribution to their immediate community, a CV with supporting documents attached, completed nomination form in triplicate, and a copy of national identification card or valid Passport.
According to the NEC Other requirements include submission of life Membership Certificate and payment slip for both Nomination and Membership fees among other requirements.
All sitting Governors, Senators, MP'S, Women Representatives, and MCAs must get their Clearance Certificate from the party Secretariat. According to Omar, Aspirants must not be in arrears of any contributions to the Party, and all aspirants must satisfy all requirements of the Kenya Constitution 2010 Chapter Six.
The deadline for receiving the applications will be February 15, 2017. The Wiper NEC also announced that they will not accept any rigging by the Jubilee government.
This is after Wiper party leader Wednesday discovered that his ID number had also registered another voter Salome Wanjiru Njoroge who was born in 1993.
Wiper also questioned why despite the registrar of persons attaining the retirement age he was still in office.
"The continued stay in office of the officer is a Jubilee strategy to pre-rig the elections by frustrating the registration of identity cards, which would eventually deny wananchi the right to vote," said Wiper secretary General.
