Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior has criticized ODM senators move to oust Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula as the senate minority leader.
Mutula Junior argues that the push to oust Wetangula is maliciously driven by certain people in the Orange Party.
Speaking to journalists at Parliament Buildings in Nairobi on Friday, the Makueni senator said that it was wrong for ODM senators to gang up against the innocent Ford Kenya senator.
‘‘The manner in which they presented the petition to oust the Bungoma senator was suspicious and orchestrated in a malicious way to embarass Wetangula,’’ he said.
The Makueni senator now wants NASA leader Raila Odinga to save the Bungoma senator from the ouster. The Senator said that replacing Wetangula with James Orengo will mark the end of the NASA Super Alliance.
Mutula Junior said that some people are determined to bring the NASA coalition to an end by use of selfish tactics.
'‘Raila, Musalia Mudavadi and Kalonzo Musyoka must now stand together and save the Bungoma senator, from being ousted as minority leader in the Senate ’’ he said.
On Friday, Raila Odinga denied having role in ODM senators push to oust Wetangula.
Sixteen ODM senator signed a petition on Thursday to have him (Wetangula) ousted as the senate minority leader and to be replaced by James Orengo.
On Friday , Wetangula said that he will not be intimidated, adding that he remains the senate minority leader unless NASA principals say otherwise.
Trouble continues to be witnessed in NASA coalition days after Raila Odinga met with President Uhuru Kenyatta and agreed to push for national dialogue.
On Wednesday, Kalonzo announced that they too are seeking audience with president Kenyatta jets back to the country from Cuba where he is on official duty.
