Kitui senator Enoch Wambua has urged NASA leader Raila Odinga to endorse Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s candidature in the 2022 presidential election when time comes.
Speaking to journalists in Kitui town on Tuesday, Wambua said Kalonzo has been loyal to the former Prime Minister adding that approving his bid in 2022 will be the best gift ever for the Wiper leader.
Wambua said as Kamba politicians they are banking on Raila’s support to take Kalonzo to State House in 2022.
The Wiper senator said Kalonzo has the qualities to ascend to the top seat.
“We have confidence that Raila Odinga will honor the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) he signed with Kalonzo in 2017 to allow him fly the NASA ticket in 2022,” Wambua said.
Wambua said Kalonzo needs Raila Odinga’s support to win in 2022.
The senator said Wiper Party will soon start nationwide sensitization campaigns to market Kalonzo’s 2022 presidential bid.
He said the former Vice President has the experience to steer the country to development success.
Meanwhile, the senator has called on NASA top leaders to remain united.
He said that media reports of wrangles and rifts among the coalition affiliate parties is a threat to the alliance reforms agenda.
“Our top leaders must sit down and address key issues that are threatening the unity and agenda of the alliance,” he said.
There have been claims of cracks in the Raila Odinga led alliance with analysts predicting that the coalition could soon collapse.
However, NASA, top leaders have dismissed the claims terming them a creation of the media.
The top leaders maintain that they are united and committed to the NASA electoral reforms and justice agenda.
