Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior has hit out at politicians blasting Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka for expressing interest in meeting President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Kilonzo argues that no one has the right to criticize the former Vice President on grounds that he wants to meet the president.
Speaking to journalist's at Parliament Buildings in Nairobi on Wednesday, the Makueni senator asked Kalonzo , Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula to go on and meet the president.
He said that those criticizing Kalonzo are playing petty politics and have another agenda to tarnish and make the Wiper leader look bad.
“Kalonzo is a diplomat and he knows what he wants by seeking audience with President Uhuru Kenyatta,” Kilonzo said.
He said President Uhuru is a symbol of national unity and no one should be restricted from meeting him.
“It is absurd for some people to attack Kalonzo for indicating that he wants to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta ,” Kilonzo said.
The Makueni senator stated that it would be for the interest of Kenyans if Uhuru meets Kalonzo and other NASA leaders.
The senator said national healing and reconciliation will be realized if there is inclusivity.
Kilonzo asked politicians to stop sideshows and embark on healing the country that is divided along tribal lines.
On Wednesday, Kalonzo announced that he is seeking to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta days after the president met Raila.
Kalonzo says that he alongside Mudavadi and Wetangula also want to meet Uhuru and discuss issues of national dialogue.
Last week, president Kenyatta met Raila Odinga where they agreed to unite the county.
On Monday, NASA principal's during their summit meeting agreed for inclusive and wider national dialogue.
