Nyali MP Hezron Awiti has said the Wiper Party will take over Mombasa County leadership as the country gears up for the 2017 general election.
Speaking on Monday shortly after meeting the Wiper Democratic Movement Party (WDM-K) delegates in Mombasa, the legislator called on Mombasa residents to back the party in the nextAwiti polls.
"The journey to take over the leadership of Mombasa and the country has started in earnest. Wiper Democratic Movement - Kenya, in a show of solidarity, is galvanizing support and will stop at nothing short of victory," said Awiti.
The legislator, who is eying the Mombasa gubernatorial seat, is set to battle it out with the incumbent Hassan Joho who doubles up as the ODM Party deputy leader and Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar.
