Wiper deputy party leader Shakila Abdalla has rubbished claims in a section of media purporting that Kalonzo Musyoka could bolt out of the National Super Alliance (NASA).Shakila said the claims are misleading, noting that Kalonzo is firmly in NASA, based on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed before the August 8 general election.Speaking to journalists in Lamu Town on Wednesday, Shakila noted that some media outlets are fueling speculations about Kalonzo’s future in the opposition. She said Wiper Party is an active member of NASA and urged supporters to ignore the false speculations.“Wiper Party is fully in NASA on grounds of the (MoU) party leader Kalonzo Musyoka signed with other affiliate parties,” said Shakila.Shakila cautioned the media against publishing speculations and urged them to instead seek concrete facts. There have been claims that Wiper politicians are feeling sidelined in NASA after Raila withdrew from the October 26 repeat presidential election.Last week, a section of Wiper politicians led by Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana met to discuss Kalonzo’s 2022 bid and his future in the opposition. The Wiper politicians vowed to push for Kalonzo’s’ 2022 presidential bid as per their MoU with NASA.The politicians also raised concerns over the formation of National Resistance Movement (NRM) alleging that it could be a calculated plot to edge out Kalonzo and push for Raila’s candidature in 2022.
