The Wiper party will hold a National Executive Committee meeting on October 20, to iron out the contentious issue of conducting its party primaries ahead of next year's general election.
Matungulu MP Stephen Mule confirmed on Saturday that party leader Kalonzo Musyoka chaired a meeting of party members in Nairobi where a decision to hold the NEC meeting next month was sealed.
The NEC meeting, according to Mule seeks to address various issues raised by both serving and aspiring holders of various political offices relating to the mode of conducting party nominations ahead of next year's general election.
There has been disquiet among several leaders in the party who feel uncomfortable with a decision made earlier by the party's top leadership that nominations would be conducted by the party machinery.
Mr Mule said party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has assured all members that nominations will be free and fair.
"It is the position of our party leader that party nominations will be conducted in fair and transparent manner and that matter will form the agenda of next month's Nec meeting," said the Matungulu legislator.
