Wiper Party will next month hold its National Delegates Conference (NDC) to officially endorse Kalonzo Musyoka as its 2017 presidential flag bearer.
According to Wiper Secretary General Hassan Omar, the National Delegates Conference has been slated for December 10, in Nairobi.
Speaking to Journalists at Party headquarters in Nairobi, Omar also said that the delegates will deliberate on party nominations.
He said that the delegates will decide on whether party nominations should be conducted by the IEBC.
“We have organized for a National Delegates Conference next month to officially endorse Kalonzo as the party’s 2017 presidential flag bearer,” said Omar.
The Mombasa senator further said that the party delegates meeting will discuss the party campaigns strategy ahead of the 2017 elections.
Omar said that they are confident that Kalonzo will be endorsed as Cord flag bearer.
He said the party is still a member of Cord and is waiting for Cord co-principals Raila Odinga and Moses Wetangula to endorse Kalonzo.
Wiper party has been on the spot in the last few days with claims that there are internal feuds among members in the party.
The party, however, says that there is no fall out between party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Machakos senator Johnson Muthama.
On Friday last week during a rally at Sultan Hamud, Kalonzo allegedly differed with Muthama publicly.
The Wiper leader accused Muthama of allegedly fueling divisions within the party.
He also accused Muthama of allegedly blocking his presidential bid under Cord.
The public dress down by Musyoka saw Muthama abandon the rally.
Speculations are now emerging that Muthama is working on a strategy to quit the Wiper party
Political analysts say that it will be the end of Kalonzo’s political career if he falls out with senator Muthama who is considered as his political ally and confidant.
