The Wiper Democratic Movement will field candidates in all posts available in 2017 elections across the country, party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has affirmed.
This comes months after coalition partner ODM called for joint nominations among opposition CORD affiliates before 2017 general elections.
And on Sunday at Kebirigo market in Kisii, Musyoka said the party will be keen to increase its representation both in parliament and county assemblies across the nation.
“The Wiper party is now ten years old yet we don’t have sizable representation in parliament and county assemblies. We will file candidates in all posts across the county regardless of the party’s popularity because in elections, it’s all about tying,” he said.
“I am confident that we will win a number of seats and increase our representation in parliament and county assemblies. We will campaign steadily for our candidates without fear,” he added.
He said youths will be given priority given the role they play in transformative politics across the country.
“Our youths are welcome ton contest from the party given the good job you’re doing in pushing for transformative leadership. That is the spirit our party promotes,” he said.
