Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has accused Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) Party of treating him as a stranger despite being a member.
Mutua claims that the Kalonzo Musyoka led party does not involve him in its activities.
Speaking during the official national launch of the Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement at Bomos of Kenya on Thursday night, Mutua clarified that he has not defected from the party as being speculated in the media.
He said that though he does not share most of the ideologies of Wiper, he is still a member of the party.
Wiper party officials have several times asked Mutua to quit accusing him of contravening the party laws by working with other parties.
Governor Mutua has been missing in most of Wiper activities and has openly worked with the Jubilee government a move that has angered Wiper party officials.
Last month, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka asked Governor Mutua to quit the party instead of giving out threats.
However, Mutua’s membership to wiper might come to an end soon as he is expected to launch Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement as a political party.
Sources say that Mutua might use the Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement to seek re-election as governor in 2017.
