Mombasa Senator and Wiper Democratic Movement Secretary General Hasssan Omar has said the party's coast region primaries will be held on April 18, 2017.Addressing journalists at his office in Mombasa on Thursday, Senetor Omar assured all the aspirants that the exercise will be conducted in a free and fair manner.“We are confident that the process will be transparent and that after conclusion of the nominations, all aspirants, winners or losers will join hands to secure the victory for Wiper party and National Super Alliance (NASA),” said Omar.The Senator, who is keen to unseat Governor Hassan Joho has warned Wiper aspirants across the region against engaging in violence and malpractice during the exercise."We wish to reiterate unwavering commitment to punish without mercy, instances of violence especially against women. Any aspirant involved in electoral malpractices during the nominations won't be spared either," he added.Omar said Wiper will also accredit independent bodies, civil society organisations, and other players who would wish to monitor the exercise.Wiper has an average of three aspirants contesting for Members of County Assembly (MCA) seats in each constituency in Mombasa.
