Speaking during the issuance of over Sh700,000 cheques at Morako polytechnic in Manga on Monday, the Victor Swanya education foundation chairman Victor Swanya challenged other local leaders to step up efforts to ensure local youths are in school to get proper education.

“Leaders should stop making false promises to Nyamira residents during campaigns to clinch various political seats. It is time leaders should team up to ensure no child from a poor family or orphan is denied a right to education,” he said.

Swanya who unsuccessfully vied for the Kitutu Masaba MP seat during the last year’s polls said he will not stop helping locals even if he is not elected.

“It doesn’t mean that I will stop helping people if they don’t elect me to parliament. I have a vision to see Kitutu Masaba develop by ensuring that we have educated people in the region to represent the constituency nationally,” he noted.

The vocal Wiper Party politician said Kitutu Masaba will be shining once he clinches the MP seat when his time comes.
