The Wiper Party has asked Kalonzo Musyoka, its party leader to lead in calling for dialogue with the Jubilee Government.
Wiper Party Chairman, Makueni Governor, Kivutha Kibwana said on Wednesday after a Wiper consultative meeting which was also attended by Kalonzo that considering the history of their party leader, he should therefore take charge of initiating dialogue with the ruling coalition.
“According to this meeting we have told our party leader that considering his history we would like him to take leadership of the dialogue process within NASA,” Kibwana said as quoted on Citizen TV.
Kibwana further said that the Jubilee government has up to 30th January to initiate dialogue or else the two NASA principals will be sworn in, adding that they were not interested in sharing power but to engage each other in matters of national importance.
“Contrary to what some may think, we are committed to non-violent change. For us we believe that dialogue is not an option whether before or after the swearing in, because ultimately as Kenyans we must speak together so that we can be able to resolve our issues,” he added.
This comes after a period of disquiet within the opposition coalition over the sharing of parliamentary leadership positions.
