The Wiper Democratic Movement has assured its aspirants that the party’s nomination exercise will be conducted in free and fair manner.
Addressing the press in Mombasa, the party secretary general Hassan Omar said the party would not allow any form of violence and those found guilty would be punished.
“This for me is an assurance from the National Elections Board and from the party that commitment the party leader and myself and the chairman have made of a free fair and transparent election process is a guarantee that we give all of you,” said Omar.
“We are not going to impose any fine on anybody. Any evidence of violence will lead to automatic disqualification,” he noted.
“We will make sure that if we found you capable of violence, that not only do we bar you from participating in Wiper nominations, we will make sure that the full force of the law takes place across the party,” he added, Monday.
The Wiper primaries kick off, Tuesday, in Mombasa, Kilifi and Taita Taveta counties.
