Mbui said Raila's silence on the alleged Sh9 billion National Youth Service (NYS) and National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) scandals is questionable.

He said the party won't sit back and watch as corruption becomes the order of the day in the country.

"We won't allow this. Day after day, corruption cases are being unearthed. If the opposition won't speak, who will? We are losing our teeth in oversight, something needs to be done," Mbui said.

Mbui spoke at Kaewa in his constituency on Friday.

He said the government shouldn't take the scandals lightly.Mbui said thorough probe should be conducted and the culprits brought to book to serve as examples to others."The last suspects of the lost Sh791 million scandal in NYS escaped scot-free, we won't allow that to happen this time. Those found culpable should serve as an example to curb cases of corruption taking root in the country," he said.
