Mutambu says that Malombe has no chance of being re-elected as Kitui governor on a Wiper ticket.

The rebel MP who recently ditched Kalonzo Musyoka’s party now wants Malombe to work with Jubilee.

The MP claimed that Wiper has a preferred candidate for the Kitui gubernatorial seat.

He alleges that Wiper party chairman who is also Kitui senator David Musila is the preferred Wiper gubernatorial candidate for Kitui seat.

The MP claims that Malombe is only wasting time in Wiper.

“Governor Julius Malombe should wake up to reality and quit Wiper because it will not endorse his re-election in 2017,” he  said as quoted by the Star.

The rebel MP assured governor Malombe of retaining the seat if he works with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party.

Mutambu claimed that there is no democracy in the Kalonzo led party.

Governor Malombe has declared interest to defend his seat in 2017.

He, however, faces stiff competition from senator Musila and former Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu who is also eyeing the seat.

Malombe and Musila will be fighting for the Wiper party ticket.

There have been concerns among some Wiper MCAs that the party’s nominations will not be fair and transparent. The MCAs claim that some party officials have already been endorsed.

The MCAs also want party officials who have declared interest in elective seats to quit their party positions so as to assure fair nominations.

The Wiper party has been assuring members and supports of fair and transparent nominations.

The Kalonzo Musyoka led party will on December 10 hold a national delegate conference to chart way forward on nominations and also to endorse Kalonzo as the party 2017 flag bearer.
