Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has warned Governor Hassan Joho against insulting Jubilee presidential candidate, President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking during a campaign rally on Sunday, Omar said Joho was mocking the Head of State unnecessarily in order to win sympathy votes from opposition supporters in Mombasa County.
"Abusing President Kenyatta is not heroism. It will not help you win in the August general elections as Mombasa residents are tired of you," said the Senator.
Omar, Mombasa Wiper gubernatorial candidate, accused Joho of failing residents by not fulfilling his 2013 election pledges, saying the Governor was banking to win a second term in office by being endorsed by the National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga.
"Rallying behind Raila will not make you governor in August. We can only celebrate you if you deliver on the development promises you made and created jobs for the jobless youth," said the wiper Secretary General.
He asked the coastal county residents to support his candidature claiming he is the most qualified amongst all candidates seeking to occupy the county's top office.
