Drama engulfed Bomondo village in Kiogoro sub location in Kisii County today when an alleged witch was forcibly evacuated from the village by angry residents.
Mrs. Stella Moraa, 39, was accused of bewitching area residents and allegedly being a master mind of mysterious deaths in the area.
According to area Chief Samson Ombaba, he rescued the lady from being lynched by angry youths who were also ready to torch her house.
“They were almost killing her besides touching her house. We arrived a consensus to have her move out of the village till investigations are carried out that will acquit or convict her”, he said.
He thanked area residents for respecting authority by desisting from acts of hooliganism and violence that are normally witnessed in such occasions.
“We have witnessed many people being lynched in such occasions. Am grateful that residents ceased to take law into their hands and that is the way forward”, he added.
Mr. John Oiko said Ms. Moraa has been adversely mentioned as an architect of mysterious deaths in the region the most recent being that of a class seven pupil at Kiogoro Primary school.
“This is not the first time she is being accused of contributing significantly to people’s death through her witchcraft. It’s absolutely impossible for someone to be mentioned in several occasions and we are glad that she has gone”, he said.
They warned her of returning to the village before investigations were complete since she might temper with the investigations by manipulating the outcome.
“We dare her to return without our consent. We will this time round ensure she is completely burnt as a way of punishing her evil deeds”, he added.
