Dr Oburu Odinga said Kenya is in dire need of a leader who will inspire people to work and transform the economy.

"Raila Odinga loves Kenya and will not allow it to be plunged into an economic crisis, that’s why he persistently criticises the state when it does not fight graft," Oburu said.

He said President Uhuru Kenyatta's tenure as head of State is worse considering the corruption scandals that have rocked the country for the last four years.

Oburu spoke at Nyawita Secondary School in Bondo during a funds drive on Saturday.

“Kenyans would have not known about the numerous scandals in this country were it not for Raila, who has constantly unearthed the ill deeds of the government,” he added as quoted by the Star.

Raila played an instrumental role in unearthing the Eurobond, NYS, SGR and Health Ministry graft scandals.

“Raila has only been raising mistakes on issues of national importance and those which the President could rectify,” he said.

During a recent State House event Uhuru acknowledged that fighting corruption had proved hard for him.
