However, the coalition’s steering committee has moved to reign in warning officials against making remarks they say will sabotage the ongoing talks on the choice of the presidential candidate.

The confusion surrounding who among the four principals will carry the coalition’s flag has been the main talk in recent days, with the principals downplaying it as a ‘healthy conversation’.

Orange Democratic Movement and the Amani National Congress engaged each other on Tuesday, over a statement attributed to Zani, who gave out the document showing Odinga as the preferred candidate for the top seat.

“If it is true that ODM Secretary General said that, she has no choice other than withdrawing publicly, because nothing is agreed until it is agreed, “said Musyoka.

Members of the steering committee have also played down that admission.

“What Zani said is democratic, it was her democratic right,” said Senator Muthama, one of the co-chairs of the committee.

Musyoka further warned against statements that are likely to undermine the ongoing talks, by the steering committee.

He also held a brief meeting with ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi, at the Wiper Party headquarters.

The principals are expected to receive the final report from the steering committee early next week, before they name their flag bearer before the end of the week.
