The MPs said only God can protect since the war against IEBC had just began.

This comes barely a day after the government gave a stern warning to all the security officers attached to Cord legislators of dire consequences if they give them protection during protests.

The MPs termed the directive as an act of intimidation and dictatorship and said no amount of intimidation will allow them to abandon their quest for a reformed electoral body.

Nyando lawmaker Fred Outa and his Nyakach counterpart Aduma Owuor condemned the move saying the government has now decided to employ all means at their disposal to continue infringing the rights of democratically elected leaders.

The law allows people to demonstrate peacefully, the MPs said insisting that demonstrations will continue.

"What Nkaissery and his team are doing is totally out of order and unacceptable. We are entitled to protection from the state but their decision to do what they have decided to do is a show of a frustrated government which is ready to use all avenues possible to perpetrate their incompetent and oppressive regime," said Mr Outa on Thursday.

Mr Owuor cautioned the government by saying that such a move is meant to to intimidate them.

He added that as the opposition, they will soldier on with or without security during protests.
