Residents of Gatundu town trooped into the streets with songs and ululations to celebrate the ‘victory’ by their own son.

Chania Ward MCA Ng'ang'a Muthua said all that Kenyans need to do now is to thank God for the victory.

“When we received this news, it was hard to believe at first. This is not just a win for the President but also a win for all Kenyans,” said Muthua.

Muthua also asked the ICC to do the 'hounorable' thing and drop the other remaining cases facing DP William Ruto and journalist Joshua Sang.

John Karanja, a pastor at a local church said that prayers had done the wonder of bringing the case to a halt even before it could officially kick-off.

“We are going to pursue the dropping of the other case through prayers,” said Karanja.

Residents now want Uhuru to visit the area for a grand thanksgiving ceremony.
