Opposition chief Raila Odinga’s commitment towards putting the Jubilee administration on its toes has saved the country from being among failed states, observes an ODM MP.
The opposition chief has been in the headlines taking President Uhuru Kenyatta head on over alleged grand corruption in his adminsitration with the NYS and Eurobond being among the top suspected scandals.
And during a phone interview with this reporter, the North Mugirango MP Charles Geni lauded the opposition leader as ‘a true patriot’ and challenged Kenyans to reward him with the presidency in the 2017 polls.
“To be honest, Kenya would have been a failed state should Raila not be in the limelight per now. The Jubilee government has reverted to the looting public resources and the President seems helpless. Raila has been in the front line questioning fishy projects in the country,” he said.
“He is a true patriot and without him, the country's economy would have been ruined long ago. Time has come for us to reward him with the presidency so that he can do a few fundamental changes before he retires,” he added.
He maintained that Raila was the only hope to dethrone the Jubilee government from power, a statement that could yet again ignite a fierce debate from members of the opposition affiliates.
