Too, who passed died on Saturday, resigned as MP to pave way for Uhuru’s nomination to the August House during President Moi’s era.

Before his nomination to parliament in 2001, Uhuru had unsuccessfully vied for Gatundu South Parliamentary seat.

“I don’t think we should be talking of Uhuru Kenyatta in the political sphere were it not for the humility of Mark Too. He did what many people could not and Uhuru owes him a lot,” he said.

“By then, Too would have even moved to court to block Moi from pressurizing him to resign in favour of Uhuru but chose to be honest and obedient,” added the former multiparty democracy fighter.

In his condolence message on Saturday, Uhuru described Too as an ‘outgoing’ person and a role model to many politicians.
