[Photo| Daily Nation]Migori Governor Okoth Obado is alleged to have bribed voters in his county to vote for him in the August 8 general election.Five witnesses told the Migori High Court that Obado bribed voters ahead of the poll. According to Lucas Opere, a boda boda rider from Awendo, he and other voters received Sh1,000 at a meeting with operators in March."A ward administrator told us the Governor gave the money," Opere said on Monday as quoted by the Star. Another witness, Tom Omollo, a driver, told the court that he received Sh300 from Obado's handlers in April during a meeting for Sony Sugar Company workers."The goodies came through his agent, which I gave to a mama mboga," Omollo said.The witnesses testified during the hearing of a petition filed by Obada's rival, Ochillo Ayacko who is contesting his victory.The case will continue on Tuesday with more witnesses testifying.
