A suspected con woman was on Tuesday rescued by police in Kisauni, Mombasa County from the hands of angry bodaboda riders who wanted to lynch her.Kisauni police boss Christopher Rotich who confirmed the incident said the woman is suspected to have been behind the theft of a motorbike in the area.Rotich said the woman identified as Mary Kariuki was confronted by over 100 bodaboda riders who accused her of being part of a gang behind the motorbike theft.The police boss said officers arrived at the scene after being tipped off by members of the public and rescued the suspect before the angry mob set her on fire.The 30-year-old woman was beaten by the bodaboda operators and the police had to fire in the air to disperse the irate riders who were baying for her blood.Rotich said the woman has been admitted to the Coast General Hospital in critical condition.“Police had to scare away the angry bodaboda riders who wanted to lynch the woman. She was beaten and seriously injured.
