A 42-year-old woman on Monday committed suicide by jumping into a well in Subukia, Nakuru County.
Confirming the 5.30am incident, Subukia central chief Francis Kibe said they are yet to establish what caused the victim, identified as Christine Kiragu to end her life as no suicide note was found.
"The woman is known as a humble person and no reports of domestic quarrel had been reported. Her husband Anthony Kiragu who works at Subukia Catholic Church had just left home for early morning mass when the incident occurred," said Kibe.
According to The Star, Mr Kiragu fainted after receiving the news, and was taken to Faith Health Centre.
On his part, Subukia MP Nelson Gaichuhie termed the incident as unfortunate, as the family had no history of domestic disputes.
The body was taken to Nakuru War Memorial Hospital Mortuary.
