A woman shocked residents after she abandoned her dirty husband and rented a house outside their homestead to live with her 3 children.
This happened on Thursday in Nyachenge, South Mugirango in Kisii County.
According to the woman identified as Monyangi, her husband, Ronald Ogutu, has not been seeing water for the last one year.
“My husband married me 7 years ago and we have been blessed with 3 kids, 2 boys, and one girl. I decided to leave home and rent a house outside the homestead because my husband has not bath for the last 1 year,” she said.
She said the man has brought shame not only to her but also children.
She noted that the kids are unable to interact with other children in the village because their father is dirty.
“My children have always complained about their father’s dirtiness. They threatened to leave home and go because their friends have been abusing them about their dad’s dirtiness,” she said.
Area chief Innocent Oteyo confirmed the incident and said the man has ventured fully into chang’aa consumption forgetting to the bath.
Oteyo said he is not opposed to the woman’s decision to leave the homestead and encouraged her to work hard and ensure the children goes to school.
