A woman has abandoned her husband of ten years after he was diagnosed of being suffering from HIV and AIDS.
The incident happened on Sunday at Bonyando village, Kisii County.
The man only identified as Mogaka told Hivisasa that he was coughing persistently and was advised to visit a local clinic only to be tested of the deadly disease.
Later the results turned positive.
"When I called my wife to also come and get tested she told me that she was leaving to her home. I later followed her up and when she tested at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital she was tested but the results turned negative," he said.
He said that, that was the time the wife said that she would nolonger risk living with her.
"She left behind their only daughter, saying that she would look for another man to live with," said Meshack Mambo, a local.
However, Mr Mogaka said that he would immediately start taking medication so that all is well.
He also advised young couples to go for testing.
