Five people are being held in a Laikipia police station for stealing and slaughtering eleven donkeys on Thursday 15th.
The police said that a woman and her two sons, in a company of two other men were caught at 10.00 pm in Ol-Jabet village Laikipia County slaughtering the donkeys.
Three donkeys were lucky as the culprits were caught when eleven donkeys had already been slaughtered.
Area Chief David Kamau confirmed the incident, adding that several others had managed to escape when the fiver were arrested.
The suspects are held at Ol-Jabet Police Station as more investigations are being carried out.
It's believed that the meat would later be transported to Nairobi and be sold to unsuspecting consumers.
