Police in Nakuru have netted a suspect in possession of bhang worth Sh1.5 million.
The woman was arrested on Friday at Pipeline area when the officers impounded on a vehicle transporting the illegal drug.
Nakuru Police boss Samuel Obara said the vehicle was headed to Nairobi from Isibania, on the border of Kenya and Uganda.
"Police received a tip off that the vehicle was transporting bhang before they launched a manhunt and seized bhang that was packed in sacks," he said.
Obara said the woman, who is being held at Nakuru Central Police Station, is helping the officers search her accomplices.
Witnesses told police that the driver and another passenger abandoned the vehicle and fled after realiasing they were being chased.
"We have launched a manhunt to arrest two people and charge them in court for trafficking bhang," Obara added.
