Confirming the incident, police officer in-charge of Teachers police post Mercy Musyoka said that Judy Nyambura was arrested Thursday evening after her husband Fredrick Mwaura recorded a statement at the police post.

According to the police officer the young woman will face charges in court once investigations are fully carried out by police.

She said that the woman who had briefly separated from her husband is said to have carried out the abortion on the sixth month of his pregnancy.

She said police arrested the woman after fishing her out of a drinking joint following a tip off from her husband.

“Her husband reported that she had sent her a text message after falling out with her recently and threatened to carry out an abortion because he was not capable of taking care of her and the baby once born.

“The husband showed us medical records that indicated that the woman has been undergoing pre-natal medical examinations but he said the woman is no longer pregnant,” said Musyoka.
