A woman has been arrested for allegedly helping a crime suspect to escape.
It is alleged that the woman identified as Ann Magoma helped the suspect Elizabeth Onduko who assaulted a 2 years old baby.
The incident happened in Miranga village Kisii South Sub County on Sunday night.
Confirming the incident area Nyumba Kumi James Matoke said Ann was arrested because she was the person who was last seen with the suspect.
“Residents threatened to set on fire Ann’s houses if she could not be arrested because she allowed the criminal to sleep in her house before she escaped on the wee hours of Monday morning,” said Matoke.
He said Mrs Onduko is being pursued by the security team for assaulting a two years old baby who was left in her custody.
Matoke said Ann is currently being held at Gesonso police station as the suspect is being trailed.
“We suspect the criminal who is at large has gone into hiding to Bogeka village in Kitutu Chache. We are trailing her before they can be charged together on Wednesday in court over the baby’s assault,” he said.
