A woman has been arrested by the police for trying to represent her sister, linked to Al Shabaab in a Mombasa court.
The woman, Abdia Adan Ali allegedly colluded with Chacha Mwita, a Nairobi advocate to appear in court covered in a Niqab as her sister Halima Adan Ali for the final hearing of her terror related case.
Halima was first arrested in Mombasa on April 3, 2015 for recruiting, facilitating and financing the Al-Shabaab. She allegedly arranged for three Kenyan women to join the terror group in Somali, but got arrested on their way by the Anti-Terror Police.
Halima got charged for being linked to Al Shabaab incarcerated at Shimo La Tewa, though she secured a bail and was released on April 23, 2017.
Even after being released, she continued with her “business” of recruiting, facilitating and financing the Al-Shabaab, and Islamic States of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Halima had been attending her court sessions. However, after realizing that she was on the police wanted list for aiding Al-Shabaab recruits to fly to Syria, she went into hiding and was advised not to appear for her final court hearing.
She did sent her sister to appear for her final court hearing, the deal which backfired and got her master-minds arrested.
