A woman is being probed over allegations that she was involved in spreading malicious messages against the Family Bank through social media.
Ms Christine Njeri was on Friday arrested by the Banking Fraud Investigations Unit (BFIU) detectives and spent her night at the Kileleshwa Police Station.
This comes two days after the bank gave an assurance to its customers that it was still strong and stable on the market.
Family Bank asked its customers to ignore any negative statements and what it termed as malicious rumours circulating on social media to depict the bank negatively.
“The source of the malicious statement is under investigation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations,” read part of the statement.
