A 34-year-old woman has been admitted at the Rift Valley Provincial Hospital after being bitten by a stray dog in Manyani Estate in the outskirts of Nakuru town.

Mary Awinja was on her way to work place when she was attacked by two dogs living her with serious injuries on her body.

She was rescued by two men who were behind her during 6:30am incident which has left residents in a big shock.

According to Leonard Aura, one of the witnesses who helped her, the woman was ahead of them when she was attacked by the dogs living her with serious wounds.

He said that the two dogs emerged from a bushy fence and numbed the woman who was on her way to Nakuru town.

"The woman was ahead of us and all of a suddenn, I just saw dogs jumbling on her, bitting her and living her with injuries before we could save her from the dogs’ bites,” said witness Aura.

This come shortly after the area residents urged Nakuru County government to issue a warning to the owners of dogs straying in the area as they were a big threat to human being and their animals.

Monicah Njenga a resident in the area claimed that there are over hundred stray dogs in the area threatening lives of innocent Kenyans.

"There are more than hundred dogs lazing around here and they are dangerous especially to women and children more so during early morning and in the evenings,” said Njenga.
