A woman who was caught stealing money from a handbag at the Kenya Commercial Bank hall in Ruiru was on Monday arraigned before a Thika Law court.

The accused, Nancy Wawira, was charged with stealing from Grace Wairimu at the Kenya Commercial Bank with the help of accomplices who were not present in court.

According to the prosecution, the accused, with her accomplices, stole Sh30,000 from Wairimu who is a first-year student pursuing at the Multimedia University while she was filling a banking slip.

Appearing before senior resident magistrate Grace Omodho, the accused was freed on a bond of Sh40,000 and a surety of similar amount.

The matter will be heard on November 9.
