A 29-year-old woman was on Wednesday arraigned in a Nakuru court for sending derogatory messages.
The accused, Judy Moraa, is said to have sent the message using her mobile phones to her husband’s presumed lover.
The prosecution told Chief Resident Magistrate Patrick Mwaniki that on January 8 this year, Moraa wrote and sent a derogatory message to a mobile phone owned by Agnes Auko.
The court heard that the complainant reported the matter to Nakuru Central Police Station where police carried out investigations which saw the accused arrested on January 19, 2014.
According to the prosecution desk, the accused through the messages, threatened to kill the complainant for allegedly having a love affair with her husband.
The short message was also abusive where it described the complainant as an uncircumcised young girl who was practicing prostitution.
However, the complainant denied having a love affair with the accused husband and that he was his regular customer at a food kiosk she operates at section 58 within Nakuru town.
The magistrate was told that the complainant had been instructed by the accused husband, who owns a furniture shop at section 58 estate, to be alerting him whenever she cooks his favourite mealm fish and ugali, so that he could go and eat during lunch hours. Just like her other customers.
However the accused had mistaken her for having an affair with her husband without carrying out investigations.
The accused denied the charges and was released on a bond Sh 40, 000 awaiting for the hearing of the case on February 18, 2015. She was also warned by the court against calling or sending messages to the complainant.
