An elderly woman has sent away her daughter in law claiming that she was a witch.
This happened at Marani area in Kisii County.
Locals say that the two have beeen at logger heads for two years now.
"The woman has always been at war with her daughter in law and we are not surprised by what is happening. We are used to their differences," said Ann Mosoti, a neighbor.
They said that even members of the clergy tried to solve the matter in vain.
That is after the woman threatened to kill her daughter in law obly identified as Kemunto.
Area Nyumba Kumi official Jackson Oremo confirmed the incident and advised parents not to be the reason their sons were fightimg with their wives.
He said that they decided to ask Ms Kemunto to go back to her parents as they solved the matter.
"We decided to ask the woman to go back to her parents because from look of things her mother in law does not want her," he said.
He also said that they they were forced to solve differences between the mother and her son after the son threatened to take her life away.
