A 29-year-old businesswoman was on Friday arraigned in court for allegedly beating her neighbor for playing loud music.
The woman, who was later identified as Salome Nasimiyu, beat Sammy Mutua after he walked into her house to ask her to reduce the volume of her radio.
While appearing at the Makadara law courts, the woman who resides at Nairobi’s Blue estate said she beat the man who said that the loud music was affecting a six-month-old baby he was looking after.
The woman allegedly told the man that she was entitled to do everything she wished including playing loud music.
Mutua stormed the house after the baby woke up from sleep because of the loud music.
The neighbors rushed to the woman’s house only to find the man writhing in pain.
Mutua was then rushed to the nearest hospital where he was treated and discharged.
The woman was arrested a month later and pleaded guilty of the offense before magistrate’s court.
The court has asked for the tabling of her probation report before she can be sentenced because she is the family’s sole breadwinner.
