A woman in Nambale town, Busia county, died on Saturday after being electrocuted.

The 30-year-old is said to have lost her life after touching a socket with naked wires in her rented house in the town.

“She entered the house from outside where it was raining and was barefoot. She touched the socket and was hit by power. We had had her screaming but when we entered the house we found her lying on the floor in a comma,” a witness narrated.

Efforts to save her life bore no fruit as she was pronounced dead upon her arrival at the Namable sub county hospital.
