Shock gripped Gakindu Village, Nyeri County after a 30-year-old woman was found dead minutes after her mother’s coffin arrived for the funeral on Thursday.
Pauline Wangari, according to residents, spent most of her time sleeping on the late Esther Wanjiru’s bed since her death on September 3, 2016.
She is believed to have suffered shock, as he was suffering from epilepsy.
“She was very close to her mother. They walked and did most things together,” said Jackson Muriuki, a member of the burial committee, as quoted by Nairobi News.
She took her medicine and asked for food hours before her demise, according to her sister, Rose Mwangi.
Her family went for a burial permit from the area chief immediately after she was found dead.
Wanjiru and her daughter were then laid to rest at the same time.
