A woman died on Thursday during the ongoing police recruitment in Bungoma county.
The family of Nepher Wamocho, 27 was left in mourning after she died while participating in the police recruitment exercise in Webuye East.
Wamocho collapsed while participating in the physical exercise at Webuye Pan Paper Grounds.
She was rushed to Webuye Sub County Hospital where she was pronounced dead as medics tried to resuscitate her.
Wamocho was from Lutacho village in Webuye,
Police Service Commission Chair, Johnstone Kavuludi, said it was unfortunate that a person had died while trying to get into the service.After addressing the parents, Kavuludi stated it was sad to lose a Kenyan citizen who was ready to serve her nation.
"It is an unfortunate incident as she was working hard and tried her best to join the police service," he said.
The National Police Service on Thursday, May 11 embarked on the recruitment of service countrywide.
The exercise, that recorded large turnouts across the county centers, targets at least 10,000 youth across the country.
