A controversial South African preacher is in policy custody after a woman lost her life in his church during a failed miracle attempt on Sunday.
Pastor Lethebo Rabalango of Mount Zion General Assembly in Polokwane, was teaching congregates about demonstration of power and was trying to emphasize that if Jesus could walk on water, then he too could do anything with the power of faith.
The pastor invited an unnamed young woman to the podium to take part in a real-life miracle which turned fatal.
Local media report that the pastor asked the girl to lie down on the floor and then ordered his ushers to pick up a giant speaker and lay it on top of her body, with the man of faith sitting on top it.
After about 10 minutes on top, Lethebo asked his ushers to remove the speaker and asked the woman to stand up.
It was only then that everyone realized she had passed out during the ordeal and later died due to severe internal bleeding.
