A woman has divorced her husband for allegedly spending too much money and time on betting.
The incident happened at Bonyagatanyi village, Kitutu Chache South constituency Kisii County.
The woman identified as Faith accused her husband identified as Bosire.
She acussed the man for selling all their 3 cows and a piece of land and spending the money on betting.
"He sold most of what we have bought while together and used the money in betting. Am now forced to work hard and ensure that I feed the family reason I opted to let him go," she said.
Area chief identified as Charles Omae confirmed the incident and said efforts to convince the woman to change her mind did not give any fruits.
"We tries to ask the woman to remain but she refused saying that the man was working against her efforts. We were forced to agree with her and let her go," he said.
However, the husband has requested the lady to go back saying he will ensure he buys everything that he sold.
This comes at a time chiefs in Kisii County have been tasked to ensure no betting takes place in their areas of jurisdiction.
