A middle aged woman drowned on Thursday evening while crossing River Bagaria.
The incident that occurred at Maji Moto, left residents of Njoro sub-county worried following the heavy rains pounding Nakuru.
The deceased, Beatrice Kwamboka 40 years old, met her tragedic while on her way to fetch her visitors at Mauche trading centre.
Maji Moto chief Peter Kamau Ndehi who confirmed the incident said the mother of four slipped and fell into the river as she was going back to her home in company of the visitors.
Speaking to this writer on the phone, the chief said: “Residents and our police officers retrieved her body three kilometers from the accident scene”.
The body was taken to Nakuru County mortuary.
Nakuru County at the moment is receiving heavy rainfall that has caused flooding in some estates including Kaptembwa and Kwa Rhonda.
