A 23-year-old lady in Thika Town was on Thursday drugged and robbed of her cash and cell phone by unknown people.
Apparently, Magdalene Gitonga left Limuru where she had gone to apply for her ID card and arrived in Thika via Kiambu route at around 2pm, on her way to Garissa where was to report for a new job.
According to her, after being dropped near Kihanya Building in Thika Town centre, two men 'accidentally' touched her nose and she lost her senses.
She later found herself near the Hindu Temple without the Sh5,000 she had and her phone. She explained that instead of her cash, she found herself holding an envelope stacked with newspaper cuttings.
Well-wishers assisted her call a friend from Murang'a who promised to rescue her before she reported the matter at the Thika police station.
OCPD Erastus Muthamia said that it was not the first case to be reported recently and cautioned the residents and mostly new comers in Thika Town to take precaution.
He added that it is hard for the police to probe such an incident.
