Chebet went on to mention that she had intended to marry Jane's husband.

Jane responded by asking Chebet to leave but it only sparked a heated argument that led to Jane removing her from the house. Chebet retaliated by slapping Jane and that is when Langat took off.

Jane then reached for knife and hacked Chebet in the chest. Chebet tried to leave the house but fell after excessive loss of blood.Jane then sought help from neighbors and AP officers drove Chebet to Health Center where she died.According to the mother of two she had been provoked by Chebet. She was intially charged with murder but pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge.Jugde Ngumbi believes the husband should have been the one to face charges. “The accused’s husband should be facing charges,” Justice Ngugi said as reported by The Star.
